Overview

Our uncoated rubber mulch, also referred to as natural rubber mulch or unpainted rubber mulch, is the workhorse of rubber mulches. It is the most economical option that can be used in a wide variety of settings. It is great for utility purposes, maintenance zones, equestrian footing, military training courses, and other areas where color may not the primary consideration. While it doesn't have the polished presentation of our colored rubber mulches, it's still widely deployed in landscaping and playground applications.

In landscaping applications the uncoated rubber mulch provides a stylish option that is grayish-black in appearance.  It provides all of the functionality and benefits of landscape rubber mulch without the price tag.

In playscapes, our uncoated rubber mulch is a popular choice because it provides a high ratio of safety for your investment.

Our uncoated rubber mulch is used in equestrian footing, often mixed with sand. It is a great option for horse stables, walkers, arenas, etc. Rubber mulch helps soften the ground and mitigate compaction.

FAQ - Uncoated Rubber Mulch

No, it does not get too hot, despite its dark color.  The underlying rubber has exceptional thermal properties which prevent heat buildup from the sun and environment. This enables the rubber mulch we sell, regardless of the color, to be used in hot sun drenched climates such as Florida, Texas, Arizona and more.

Uncoated rubber mulch, as the name suggest, does not have a coating applied to it. The aforementioned referenced coating is used to color the rubber mulch with the different colors that we offer. While the uncoated rubber mulch has a matte black color it is different in appearance to the black painted (or coated) rubber mulch which will have a more refined finish and deeper black color. The uncoated rubber mulch is perfect for applications where functionality and price are the most important factors.

Yes, it is the same. Uncoated rubber mulch is often referred to as natural rubber mulch or unpainted rubber mulch.
